Great Deal Jura-Capresso 13421 ENA4 Automatic Coffee and Espresso Center, Ristretto Black

My husband bought this machine for me about 7 months ago. As many of the other reviewers have said, the wand popped off on a daily basis. I found it very annoying and was to the point of returning it when my husband suggested I call Jura’s Customer Service department. I didn’t really think the problem could be fixed. It seemed like a design flaw that I’d have to live with if I wanted to keep this machine. I’m glad I called them though because after telling them my problem, they sent me a brand new wand for free. I’ve used this wand to make at least 2 drinks on a daily basis for the last 6 months and it has never popped off! I’m very happy with the purchase now. The one complaint I do have however is that even though it’s set on the highest setting, the espresso comes out a littler weaker than I’d like it. I can live with this and I would definately purchase the machine again!

Not worth the $ – Justin Guimond – Eagan, MN
The biggest issue with this machine is that it makes weak espresso. Even on the ‘strong’ setting, it just doesn’t use enough grounds to produce a good strong espresso. Once this weak espresso is combined with milk and/or flavoring syrups, the coffee flavor is all but gone. The water tank is also quite small, so you have to fill it a lot. I don’t have any available counter space that doesn’t have cupboards above, so every time I had to fill it I had to drag the thing out from underneath the cabinets since the tank is in the way back. This is not an easy task since the machine is heavy and sits on rubber. Lastly, the one-touch rotary button is self-defeating. I imagine they put the one button on there to make it easy to use…but to try and finangle all the menus and settings with one button is needlessly confusing. Lastly, every time you start it up or turn it off, it goes through a rinse cycle, so you had better have a cup nearby to collect the brown water it’ll be shooting out! This is mildly annoying and wasn’t ever mentioned in the directions. I exchanged this machine for a Saeco. The Saeco’s tank is on the side, the machine is on rotary wheels so it can easy move above, and it can make a dark, strong espresso shot, or a weak one, all with the turn of a dial. I imagine most people see these machines as an investment so given the cost, it’s really not worth it.

Great Deal Jura-Capresso 13413 Impressa F8 Automatic Coffee and Espresso Center

I received this as a Chirstmas gift, I could not fathom spending this amount of money on something for myself. At any rate, I love coffee, espresso and all other coffee flavored drinks so trust me when I say,
“this was a wonderful surprise” for a true coffee lover. In the long run, not only was I worth the price, but it has actually paid for itself with the money I have now saved not going to coffee houses, @ .00 and up per cup, and for a much better cup than those they were selling. This is definitely for the coffee lover, not occassional drinker, who has everything else. Oh! space helps too, it not a small item. Extremely well packaged, dependable, and sturdy. FYI. I waited a year and a half before leaving this review, I received it Dec.25, 2008. Used everyday, multiple times per. The filters are a bit expensive but you get a good length of time on them, the can be purchased cheaper online and in bulk.

Jura F8 – Repeated Failures – Rj –
I’ve owned an F8 for some time and just shipped it off for it’s third repair. I follow all cleaning instructions and it still fails. So far I’ve spent 0 dollars on repairs for the same failure. 0 the first time, 5 the second time and 5 this time. Capresso has not responded to my emails on this machine, they have never provided information on what part keeps failing and they have an ever increasing standard charge for any repair.

If you make on cup of coffee per week, this is the machine for you. If you make 4 cups per day, plan on paying and paying and paying.

Great Deal Jura-Capresso 13214 Impressa Z5 Automatic Coffee Center

MUST READ…. What a BIG expense but such a GREAT purchase!!!! I am so happy we bought the Jura Z5. A must do is….. read the instructions. I suspect a lot of the errors and issues folks are having in the other reviews on this site may be due to misuse. The machine is not complicated but is obviously high tech and not like your run of the mill 9 coffee machine. We bought this machine after extensive research and visiting many stores. I am a shopper and look for the best deals and the best product. I probably would not have purchased this model if it were not my husband. It has all the bells and whistles so if you want a little less flash and the same function go with the S9. There is a comparison chart of the Jura machines on their website. I have owned a Cappresso for many years and was leaning towards the DeLonghi after reading reviews and functionality.

After visiting the stores and seeing them in action, the Jura won hands down. The Delonghi frothier seemed to come lose after use and the machine had problems recognizing the milk container. The Jura is a thermos like container and can sit on your counter for several hours in the morning without getting warm. It also fits a lot better in the fridge door. Another nice feature, that some of the cheaper machines do not have is that you can use two kinds of coffee – beans or grounds at the same time. This came in handy the other evening when a guest of ours wanted decaf but we had regular beans in the machine. You just scope in the grounds you want and presto…different kind of coffee without removing all the beans.

One more thing…don’t forget this makes hot chocolate and hot water for tea!!!!

The quality of this product is incredible. I am so impressed with how solid the machine is built and the parts seem very durable. It is not complicated at all to use…but remember.. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. This is a big purchase but well worth the cafe quality beverages. If you live by a Costco, you may want to buy beans in bulk. We do notice we drink much more coffee :-) Also if you like flavored drinks, try buying the starbucks syrup and making your own latte at home for MUCH less. Hope you enjoy this as much as my husband and I do.

Z5 repairable – Steven B. Halls – Edmonton, Canada
My Z5 has been in continual use for several years, making 5 to 10 cups a day. Someone online sells a special screwdriver head- needed to open up the machine. With it, I’ve taken it all apart and fixed the various problems that occur. Those problems have included: water lines clogging- needing decalcification step- despite using clearyl cartriges. coffee ground dust gradually gums up moving parts- making motors work harder. sensor switches getting sticky. Despite these problems, this machine is well engineered, it *is* fixable. If you don’t feel up to it, and have a broken machine, sell it to me: steve@halls.md

Bad, expensive service – L. Cahan –
You would think after paying this much money for a coffee center, one would be able to write with pride about good service from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, this is not the case. A simple hinge stopped working on one of the doors, and the Jura-Carpesso people want 0 to fix it! I had been a long time customer of this company and had purchased two other units in the past. They too often break after a short time and repairs are outlandishly expensive.

I’d look elsewhere in the future
